Lewis goes to Flagstaff and Escalante

We took Lewis to Escalante for Leah and Brian's wedding on Memorial Day weekend. We drove through his hometown of Flagstaff to hang out with friends and do some hiking.

Sarah's Visit

Sarah put me on her blog so I promised that she would appear with Lewis on his blog. We took this at our house before we all walked down to The Cup for dinner.

Lewis on Mt. Lemmon

Dean took Lewis on an assignment he had the other day. Too bad these photos of him never made it in the paper. He looks so handsome.

Lewis is definitely a mountain dog. After spending nearly a month in a half in the desert, we took Lewis for a hike in the mountains. As the desert heats up with each passing day, Mt. Lemmon remains at a chilly 50 degrees. We parked the car and Lewis jumped out and went to town marking the pine tree, taking a dump, and scratching the ground. He was scratching so hard he was getting air. I think this is his way of communicating that this is where he belongs. 

A couple hours later everyone was exhausted. It was a great day. 

Dean and Lewis snuggling

Since Lewis has been with us, Dean has been trying to snuggle with him. Lewis doesn't want anything to do with this. In all the time that I have known him he has let me snuggle with him for a total of 2 minutes, maybe. Dean's persistence finally wore him down and he got in a little bit of snuggling this morning. Lewis is really a good sport for putting up with us.
